The Role
You will lead the post-production department—people, pipeline, and polish. You’ll translate creative direction into clear edit plans, assign work based on strengths and capacity, and ensure on-time, on-brief delivery across a wide range of formats. You bring a fresh eye to process, tools, and trends while championing quality and efficiency.
What You’ll Do
Team & Schedule Management
- Own the post schedule in Monday.com—daily/weekly/quarterly views—and align resources to changing priorities.
- Assign projects to editors/assistants based on availability, skill, and project needs.
- Keep projects on scope, on style, and on deadline (internal and external).
Post Pipeline & Quality
- Set and enforce editorial standards, from story structure through finishing and delivery.
- Provide decisive editorial direction; review cuts and give actionable notes.
- Approve final outputs prior to management/client review.
Shared Storage & Media Management
- Oversee server performance, capacity, organization, and remote access.
- Maintain logical year/client/project structures; manage ingest, backups, and archive/reuse policies.
Hardware & Software Stewardship
- Keep edit workstations and peripherals current; plan upgrade cycles against ROI.
- Manage licenses (e.g., DaVinci Resolve Studio, Adobe Creative Cloud, audio plugins) and ensure cross-platform availability.
Continuous Improvement
- Audit and optimize workflows in DaVinci Resolve (and companion tools).
- Identify emerging techniques/tech and implement process improvements.
- Document SOPs for recurring work (series, social cut-downs, versioning, captions, delivery specs).
Philosophy & Collaboration
- Highly organized, flexible, and positive—able to raise the creative bar while supporting the team.
- Strong communicator who can balance company visual standards with each producer’s creative direction.
- Adaptable to client goals and able to bridge expectations with clear options and outcomes.
What You Bring
- 10+ years in post-production with proven leadership of editors/assistants.
- Expert command of DaVinci Resolve (editing, color, conform, and delivery); ability to audit and improve end-to-end workflows.
- Experience partnering closely with producers and DPs; quick, confident editorial decision-making.
- Fluency in media management, shared storage (NAS/SAN), remote collaboration, and QC.
- Strong finishing chops (audio handoff, color pipelines/LUTs, captions/subtitles, broadcast/web specs).
- Clear, constructive feedback style; calm under changing priorities.
Nice to Have
- Experience managing hybrid on-site/remote teams and complex multi-deliverable series.
- Comfort operating within diverse client requirements and compliance workflows.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $90-$95,000 / year, commensurate with experience.
- Benefits: Health insurance and 401(k).
